In her own words ... Now I spend less time in the Principal's Office, more time as a classroom leader

Ve'nessa
Victoria Elementary

“My name is Ve’nessa. I’m in the fifth grade. I am very smart and kind at most times. I’m usually tense and angry. THINK Together has helped me be more controlling over my urges to fight back. THINK has also helped me to be less angry and tense at simple and stupid things.

My Program Leader talks to me a lot. She also gives me an opportunity to be a classroom leader so that I can showcase my responsibility. I like being in front of a crowd. I like being a Program Leader Assistant. My Program Leader lets me share my feelings with her which I can’t always do at home. Sometimes my friends at THINK make me feel better when I get in a bad situation. My Program Leader and Site Coordinator help me to make better choices. Now that I have been in THINK Together, I spend less time in the Principal’s office.”

This is awesome!

THINK Together is serious about helping kids achieve!

THINK Together is making a difference in the lives of more than 100,000 California students. The non-profit organization's trained staff, dedicated volunteers and generous donors are providing extended learning time programs (after-school, summer learning, small group tutoring, early literacy, etc.) and resources to help these kids, their families and their communities achieve. Our programs, generally free for at-risk students and low-income families, are predominately available at public school sites across Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego and now Sacramento Counties.
