Tomorrow is National Summer Learning Day


Thursday, July 9th is National Summer Learning Day, organized by the National Center for Summer Learning at the Johns Hopkins University School of Education.

The celebration is meant to showcase the importance of summer learning to youth and families in your community. Such events are registered at: http://www.summerlearning.org/.

The National Center for Summer Learning believes all young people should experience enriching, memorable summers. The Center engages in research, develops policy and delivers professional development, and works with a nationwide network of program providers and partners, to ensure that children and youth in high-poverty communities have access to quality summer learning programs. NOTE: This summer, THINK Together -- known generally as the largest provider of academically-focused after-school programs in California -- is serving more than 14,000 Southern California students with academically-focused summer enrichment programs.

THINK Together is making a difference in the lives of more than 100,000 California students. The non-profit organization's trained staff, dedicated volunteers and generous donors are providing extended learning time programs (after-school, summer learning, small group tutoring, early literacy, etc.) and resources to help these kids, their families and their communities achieve. Our programs, generally free for at-risk students and low-income families, are predominately available at public school sites across Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego and now Sacramento Counties.
