TAKE ACTION - Support Summer Learning Programs Today

Today, July 9th, is National Summer Learning Day
Urge Congress to fund the STEP UP Act

Despite extensive research on the benefits of summer learning programs, there are currently no federal programs that exclusively target the summer months as a strategy to close the achievement gap.

Last year, Congress passed the Summer Term Education Program or STEP UP Act as part of the larger America COMPETES Act. However, there is currently no funding allocated for this program.

The National Center for Summer Learning is currently leading efforts to get the STEP UP Act funded this year.
